Glaze can give the a project a certain meaning. This is a 5 inch tall by 2.5 inch wide choice vase. The project is narrow at the base and widens out as the project becomes taller. The lip of the project is severely flared. The entire project is glazed in clear and there are math equations stained on in green. The math equations stained cause the project to become math themed.

Glaze can be used to enhance elements of a project. This is a 3.25 inch wide by 4.5 inch tall wheel altered project. The body of the project is narrow at the base and widens out as the project gets taller. About 3/4 of the way up, the project reaches its widest point and then gets narrow again. The lip of the project is flared and altered into a wavy shape. The entire project is glazed in clear and there is shadow green glaze on the lip that drips down the sides of the project. The shadow green glaze enhances the unique lip of this project because the color highlights the wave.

The glaze and the form of projects can give a group of projects a unifying element. This is my set of three which is composed of a small bowl, a bowl with two handles, and a lidded bowl. The small bowl is 3 inches wide and 3 inches tall, the bowl with handles is 3.5 inches wide and 3.5 inches tall, and the lidded bowl is 4 inches wide and 3.5 inches tall. The bodies of all of the projects begin narrow at the base, widen at the middle, and are choked at the lip. All of them are glazed entirely in clear and then stained with different blue flowers. The small bowl has tiny, thin, six-pedal flowers and the lip is stained in blue. The bowl with handles is stained with five-pedal flowers that are a bit pointy. The flowers are stained in clusters and some of them have green leaves. The lidded bowl has clusters of round, five-pedaled flowers and the clusters also have leaves. These projects make up a set because they have similar body shapes and are glazed in a common way. All of them have blue flowers stained on to them. The tiny project has the pointiest flowers while the lidded project has round flowers. These two flowers are then combined to make the flower that is on the project with handles. The body shape and the glaze are two unifying elements that make these projects a set.

Glaze has the ability to add the appearance of texture to a project. This is a 3.8 inch wide by 3.25 inch tall cylinder. The body generally has straight sides, although there is a slight curve to it. The lip at the top of the project is about 0.5 inches wide and it flares out dramatically. The entire project is glazed in white and then shadow green was sponged on top of it. The sponging technique creates the illusion of texture to this project.

Complex glaze enhance simple forms. This is a 4.25 inch wide and 3.5 inch tall lidded project. The body is narrow at the base of the project, widens as it reaches the middle, and then is smaller at the lip. The lip flares out at the top and the lid has a simple knob. The entire project is glazed in white and there are red butterflies stained on the sides. The stain makes this simple form look more interesting and the butterflies incorporate movement into the project.
