I can't make in ceramics right now! I can't explain it. I can't center, I can't throw; nothing's working out for me. This is what happened to the tea pot that I attempted to make. I finally made a lid that fit the project but I forgot to bag the project, so the body got too dry to add a spout or a handle. So now it is just a larger lidded project. I think I'm going to make a smaller and taller lidded project to complete my set of three. I'm hoping that I'll be able to make ceramics sometime soon so I can get some more projects going.

This week I didn't accomplish much of anything because I was sick for the first half of the week. All of my lids I made for my tea pot weren't successful last week so I tried a few more times and those also did not work out. I made one more today so hopefully it works. If it doesn't, I think I'm going to re-work my idea. My second soup bowl came out of the glaze kiln. Next week I am planning to make two cups to complete my set of three.

This week I finished glazing my bowl with flowers and the vase with the carvings in the side. I also put my second bowl through the bisque but I still need to glaze it. Now that I had all of those projects done, I began working on my set of three. I want to make a tea pot with two cups. I made the body of my tea pot and made my first lids. I tested them out on Friday and both of them did not fit properly. So next week I need to make the right lid so I can continue to work on my set of three.

I have gotten so much done this week! I made my second tall project AND my second bowl AND a choice project. I found a ceramics book in a book store that suggested using a stick tool in an up and down motion to create texture on a project, so I tried out that technique on my tall project. I was mad though because I messed up with the sick tool...again. I just can't seem to get the hang of it! So there is a big gash in the side of my project. I tried to hide it with the texture though. I also made a bowl that I am actually proud of! Last year I found it hard to make a bowl in a shape that I actually liked. This bowl is a little narrower than a soup bowl should be, but I like how it looks and how the lip flares out. Finally, I glazed the bowl that I made last week. I glazed the inside and the flowers blue and then dipped the outside of the project in clear. I wiped off the blue on the flowers so that the color was in the grooves. Hopefully next week can be just as productive as this one! :)
