This week I have been working hard on making my first teapot. I made the body and a lid on Monday. The first lid didn't work, so I made two more on Tuesday and on Wednesday, one of them worked perfectly! On Wednesday I also made my spout and my handle. They were too wet on Thursday to attach to the body so I assembled all of the pieces on Friday. I put some wet clay into the teapot to make all of the clay the same wetness and put it in a sealed bag. I will let it dry next week. I also glazed my project for my math teacher and my wheel-altered project.

This week I have completed a lot of projects and am in the works of some projects also. I found this bowl, which is the picture on the left, so I'm not sure why I made it, but I think the glaze turned out really nicely. I also made a cylinder for my math teacher, but I thought I made one that was too short, so this is just an extra project. Finally, my lidded project finally came out of the glaze....butttt it kinda sucks. The red stain ran like crazy over the white stain, the lid got stuck on the project and refuses to come off, and the side of my project cracked (from trying to remove the lid) and a whole chunk of the side came off. On a more positive note, the better cylinder that I made for my math teacher came out of the bisque and I will probably glaze it on Friday. I have also made a lot of progress on my tea pot. Currently I have the body, lid, and spout all made. I just need to make the handle and assemble it. Also, my wheel-altered project just needs to come out of the bisque so I can get glazing on that :)

This week I have been in the works with many projects. I glazed a cylinder that I don't like very much, so I don't know what I'm going to do with that. I am also in the process of glazing my lidded project. Currently it is all just white and I am going to stain red butterflies on it. This week I also made my wheel-altered project which is what the two pictures are of. It is a tall vase with a wide belly that has a scalloped lip. I can't decide how I want to glaze it, but I'm thinking of incorporating the wavy theme somehow. Next week I need to foot and bisque this project and start working on a teapot.

This week I worked on finishing my set of three. I added handles to my final project of the set and ran it through the bisque. I glazed it with blue flowers and green leaves and glazed the rim blue. I also made a tall, skinny vase for my math teacher. I want to glaze math symbols all over it. Next week I will begin working on my tea pot.

This week I did a lot of glazing and finished a lot of projects. The two projects in the picture are part of my set of three. The littler one has tiny flowers on it and the lip in stained blue as well. The taller project has clusters of blue flowers and green leaves. I attached handles on the project that will complete the set of three and it is currently in the bisque kiln. The staining process was long with these two projects so I haven't been working on anything else this week. Next week I am hoping to finish my set of three and start on another lidded project.

This week I have been doing a lot of glazing. I finished this project that I have a picture of. It was going to be part of my set of three, but it didn't fit in with my other two projects. So I just glazed it with the brown color and put tape on the outside of the project to give the lines. I have also been working on glazing my set of three. My project with the lid has big blue flowers in it that are grouped in clusters. I am also in the process of putting a handle on one other project that is a part of my set of three.

This week I finally make some more projects. The three pictures are the projects I am using for my set of three. The one on the left is the largest with a lid, the one in the middle is the smallest and it will stay like it is, and the one on the right is the middle sized and I'm going to add handles to it. I also have another project in the works that is a narrow and tall vase. I am currently glazing the project with the lid with blue flowers in clusters. The other two projects will also have blue flowers, but in different shapes and sizes, so that they remain cohesive.

I can't make in ceramics right now! I can't explain it. I can't center, I can't throw; nothing's working out for me. This is what happened to the tea pot that I attempted to make. I finally made a lid that fit the project but I forgot to bag the project, so the body got too dry to add a spout or a handle. So now it is just a larger lidded project. I think I'm going to make a smaller and taller lidded project to complete my set of three. I'm hoping that I'll be able to make ceramics sometime soon so I can get some more projects going.

This week I didn't accomplish much of anything because I was sick for the first half of the week. All of my lids I made for my tea pot weren't successful last week so I tried a few more times and those also did not work out. I made one more today so hopefully it works. If it doesn't, I think I'm going to re-work my idea. My second soup bowl came out of the glaze kiln. Next week I am planning to make two cups to complete my set of three.

This week I finished glazing my bowl with flowers and the vase with the carvings in the side. I also put my second bowl through the bisque but I still need to glaze it. Now that I had all of those projects done, I began working on my set of three. I want to make a tea pot with two cups. I made the body of my tea pot and made my first lids. I tested them out on Friday and both of them did not fit properly. So next week I need to make the right lid so I can continue to work on my set of three.
